PREREQUISITES
Candidates must meet the following prerequisites before they could be considered for the Handicap Test.
Theoretical Knowledge
Candidates must be fully conversant with Golf Etiquette, Golf Definitions and the essential Golf Rules as stipulated in the Royal St Andrew & USGA ‘Golf Rules’.
Practical Ability
Candidates must be able to return a score of not more than 108 strokes (for men) and 120 strokes (for ladies) in a round of 18 holes golf game. In addition, they must have completed a minimum of 10 rounds of 18 holes golf game, prior to the test date. The score cards of these completed games must be submitted to the Tester on the appointed test date.
The Test
The Handicap test comprises of a theoretical (20 questions) and a practical test (one round of 18 hole golf game) with the Testor. Candidates must pass both tests before they are awarded an official USGA handicap.
